Machine Knitting Magic

Happy 2016
This year the weather put everybody out of kilter. Winter supposed to start in December, but snow is just coming down now. I feel sorry for businesses who depend on the snow fall.
In the midst of the Holiday Season. we last our knitting club organizer and a dear friend
Barbara Bennett. In the last days of hers was spent in the Hospital, and lefts us in the last day of 2015. She is sadly missed.
Our knitting group is a very productive and friendly bunch. We have a charity box and every
meeting something is added to it. We have delivered two boxes full to the KW Hospital in
November.
Every meeting we have a demonstrator, with some new techniques, or maybe ones which needs to be revisited. It keeps the group inspired and alive, which is showing in the Show-
and Tell section.
Because of the Winter driving difficulties,[a few members coming from the countryside]
we decided to have no meeting in January and February. Next meeting will be in the second
Wednesday of March. [Cambridge Knitting Club, Tel. 519 653-1743 ]
March the 1-st.2018
In the last few days we have been treated with mild weather, and everybody was thinking of Spring. Unfortunately this afternoon it started to snow and the temperature is down by a few degrees and windy.
However, it gives us to think about more knitting, and I am working on destashing a lot of yarn, and a few knitting machines as well.
I have about a couple of Singer SK 7oo and 740 for sale. Before
I offer it the machine will have a new sponge bar, and technically looked over, cleaned and oiled, and have Instruction
Manual, plusz all the tools which comes with it originally.
They are priced for $300.-each. plus shipping.
I also have a couple of Brother machine;
1./Model 588 with a ribber std gauge. manual pattern selection.
$150.- for both.
2./Model 840, punch card machine. standard gauge lace carriage comes with it. $350.-
3./Model 881, punch card machine standard gauge. this one has a built in knit leader, and lace carriage. $375.-
Yarn: Tamm coned yarn, $15.-/cone 1 lb. cone. I have to list the available colours in another chapter.
There are yarn in skeins, and cake format, but I have to make some grouping yet so it will be offered in batches.
It is good to dig into the stash, because with every box opening
the ideas just coming with abundance, only there isn't enough time to make them. But there must be some hope to use it up.

HO HO HO
Hello again,
Getting closer to Christmas, and I wonder if your projects are ready for giving it away?
Unfortunately I am way behind with my plans, because of illness came unexpectedly for me first, than to my Husband, who is still recovering. I didn't have much time for anything else but taking care of him.
However I made a few finger less gloves following Diana Sullivan pattern on U tube. It is a double bed work, but a great practice on the ribber.
I also made a triangular shawl on the LK 150 machine which turned out to be very nice. Lots of holes, all transferred by hand, but the colour of the yarn is spectacular. Prizm from Mary Maxim.
Unfortunately the uploding didn't happened, and I don't have more time to continue with topic. Maybe next time it will work.
Until then happy knitting.

Autumn colours
HELLO KNITTERS
Summer is over and we have to think about warm, cosy stuff, to make on our knitting machine.
My Summer went very quickly, but I managed to attend the Seminar in Peru Indiana, and the one
in Monroe Michigan.
I had a good time in both places, and the Demonstrators were excellent in both places. In spite that
I am a seasoned machine knitter, some of the techniques were not new to me, but never hurt to refresh them. And there is always some new ideas are circulating, since our craft is related to Fashion. And adding books to my Library.
There are lovely shawls were presented, with some other wonderful pieces which were worn by other
knitters. I have to mention Charlene Safer's baby and adult blankets. They were georgeous and quite
easy to make. She also had a variation of books for sale.
I had a chance to meet Diana Sullivan, you probably have seen her demos on Utube. It is nice to put a face to the voice on UTube. She also had a couple of books which were talking to me so I picked them up.
On the way back from Monro MI. we took off to Frankenmuth for a chicken Dinner and observing the new addition to this lovely Bavarian like town.
However, good things have to come to the end, and I ended up with an early cold, which put me out of action for a week. It came disturbingly early, but nothing could prevented it.
After that I acquired an "Addi" circular machine to make hats without a seam. It was a momentary
decision, because we can make hats on any machine which has a ribber, with a circular techniques.
But, I have seen this machine on UTube, and it was demonstrated how can you make a hat in 30 seconds. It sounded so good, that I thought I have to have it. So I went to Mary Maxim and bought it. If you have a Mary Maxim catalogue, or you go to their website you can see one.
So I made a dozen or so simple hats, adding some fancy yarn to it etc. The machine is simple to operate, the secret is to find the appropriate thickness yarn to get an adult size hat.
Now, that the temperature is down, with the leaves also, [lot's of leaf collecting] I am back in earnest to knitting, to make up for lost time.
See, if I can upload some pictures.
Until next time, happy knitting

Will we able to enjoy "Spring" this year?
I am totally disgusted with the weather. My backyard still has the last year Ice Storm brunches laying on the grass.
The surface is so wet that is impossible to walk on it. I have to wait until we will have a few days of sunny and warm days to start the cleaning up.
My knitting also suffers from the "SAD" mood. I try to organize a Spring Sale, but every body will laugh at me, because we have no Spring at all.
However, I have the following items ready for sale:
Singer KR7 knit radar complete new. $150.-
Singer YC2 old model yarn changer $ 50.-
Singer YC5 yarn changer new $ 125.-
Singer YC6 yarn changer for both bed $165.
Brother single bed yarn changer new $ 95.-
Brother KRC double bed " " $ 145.-
Brother KR850 new $ 395.-
All machine accessories are complete with instruction manual and punch cards where it is applicable. Smoke free environment, no pets. Shipping charges is extra. PayPal is accepted.

Winter activities
Hello again,
I could use the weather as an excuse not to publish anything for a long time.
In the last blog I mentioned the "Cut and Sew" workshop. It was very well received
and maybe some others will be scheduled some times in the Spring.
In the meantime I am doing some organising, inventory etc. There is a lot of
yarn need to be sold out, space becomes very tight in my workshop.
I also will put on the blog some new tools, which can make your knitting faster.
These are multiple prong tools for the standard gauge and chunky machines.
As soon as my pictures are ready, I will share it with you.
Right now I am ready to watch the "Oskar Presentation" which is my favorite
among other TV programs.
Keep warm
